About PACE Approval

What PACE approval means

AGD PACE evaluates the educational processes used by continuing dental education providers. PACE approval applies to the program provider and should not be interpreted as AGD endorsement of an individual course, speaker, product, process, service or therapy.

01

Provider Approval

PACE approval recognizes the continuing education provider's educational processes and administration rather than accrediting individual courses.

02

FAGD/MAGD Credit

Continuing education offered by an approved PACE provider may be accepted by AGD toward applicable Fellowship, Mastership and lifelong learning credit requirements.

03

No Regulatory Endorsement

PACE approval does not establish acceptance for licensure maintenance by a state board or other governmental or private regulatory authority.

Clinical Education & Patient Protection

Applying new techniques responsibly

Important Clinical Education Notice

Participation in an AOS Institute continuing education activity does not, by itself, establish clinical competency in any technique or procedure presented.

Participants are cautioned against incorporating techniques or procedures into their practices when the educational activity has not provided adequate supervised clinical experience to permit competent performance.

Each participant is responsible for practicing within their education, training, experience, professional licensure, permitted scope of practice and all applicable laws and regulations.

Evidence-Based Education

Clinical and technical educational activities are expected to address the scientific basis of the subject matter, including relevant benefits, risks and limitations.

Appropriate Experience

When prior knowledge, training, skill or clinical experience is required or recommended, that information is communicated to potential participants before enrollment.

Scope of Practice

Continuing education does not expand a participant's legal scope of practice or replace professional licensure, credentialing or other jurisdictional requirements.
